Railroad Notes: Erie Fireman Injures Hand

RAILROAD NOTES

Mel Dice of the Erie force, is enjoying a short lay off.

Burt Cheney of the Short Line office force, is off duty owning to sickness.

C. A. Allen, superintendent of the Erie, was in the city today, looking after business matters for the road.

Gus Rheiner, passenger agent of the Clover Leaf, was in the city today, looking after business matters for his road.

Roy McAlister is now acting as the Short Line office, but it is not known as yet who will be appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Miss Anna Adams.

Jerome A. Fillmore, until recently manager of the Southern Pacific system, lies at the point of death at his home at San Francisco. He is one of the leading figures in railway life on the Pacific coast, and was an associate of Sanford Huntington for thirty years.

H. A. Swaney, Erie fireman, in some manner drove a bolt almost through the fingers of his left hand, this afternoon, while tinkering about his engine at DeCliff. He was on the eastbound local and came on to Marion, where the injured hand was dressed by Dr. D. O. Weeks.

RAILROAD NOTES

Almost two hundred and fifty immigrants passed through the city Monday evening on a section section of Erie train No. 3. They were on their way to the Northwest.

MARRIED AT LARUE WEDNESDAY EVENING

Are Mr. Ezra T. Virden and Miss Anna May Virden

Ezra T. Virden and Miss Anna May Virden were married by Rev. J. A. Sutton at the Sutton home in LaRue at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Virden are estimable young people with a whole circle of well wishers for their future happiness.
