Stephen Dwyer and Thomas Connolly, of Whitestone, were arrested, charged with stealing three cases of liquor from the ruins of Denely's hotel and arraigned before Justice MacKenna. Dwyer confessed the theft but said that Connolly was innocent. Connolly was discharged and Dwyer was sent to the county jail for three months.
