Hunter is Shot By His Dog

1915

Act of Playful Animal May Cost Master's Life

OSKALOOSA, Iowa, Dec. 16. — Wilbur Kentfield may die as the result of a strange hunting accident near here. He was shot by his dog. Kentfield was leaning with crossed hands on the muzzle of his shotgun, which was cocked. His dog jumped at him for a caress and his paw struck the trigger, discharging the gun. The charge tore off Kentfield's right hand and badly mutilated the left. Part of the charge entered his neck.

Rare Fish is Caught

Six-Foot Acrotus Willoughby Landed at Gig Harbor

GIG HARBOR, Wash., Dec. 16. — In 1887 Charles Willoughby, Indian agent on the Quinalt reservation, forwarded to the National Museum in Washington, D. C., a most peculiar fish, which was named the Acrotus Willoughby. Another fish of the same variety has recently been taken here. It is six feet in length, has no scales and has a small head shaped like that of an oyster. It is smooth and brown and in shape resembles the perch, but is larger.
