Would'st flirt? Oh, no you won't! Not if this little miss — or any other miss similarly attired — sees you first. And the changes are they'll see you first, too, for if you come close the periscope'll get you.
The periscope bonnet is absolutely new. It may show up round your locality any time. Hence a detail of its mechanism is herewith revealed.
A tiny mirror is tucked at an attractive and innocent angle in the periscope bonnet so that it reflects the actions of pedestrians behind the wearer. Thus, if some male person trailing along behind the periscope begins straightening his coat, fixing his tie or dusting off his shoes, these actions reflected in the mirror warn the young woman that a masher is preparing to flirt. Being warned, she may watch for a policeman and Mr. Flirt is taught a neat little lesson.
So beware, flirts, or the periscope'll get you.
