Novia S. Beavers and Laura M. Dye Wed, 1896

Leon, Iowa area, 1896

Beavers-Dye

Married, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Dye, December 29, 1896, at 6 o'clock p.m., Novia S. Beavers and Laura M. Dye. As Mendelssohn's wedding march was played by Miss Bertha Hutchinson, the bridal party entered the parlor, accompanied by Miss Cora B. Dye and Carl Abrahamson, where Rev. F. Edwards stood waiting, and in the presence of about 40 invited guests, the happy couple were made husband and wife. After congratulations all retired to the dining room where a beautiful repast was served.

The table was tastefully decorated with carnations and smilax. The bride wore a cream colored albatross with pearl and satin trimmings and a beautiful boquet of pink and white carnations on her corsage, also a bunch in her hair. The groom was attired in the conventional suit of black. The bridesmaid wore a cream colored silk with lace and velvet trimmings and a boquet of carnations. It was shown that they were held in high esteem, by the many valuable presents received from relatives and friends.

Those present from a distance were: Miss Ida Crawley, Sweetwater, Tenn.; Mrs. R. C. Hutchinson, Miss Berth and Clyde Hutchinson, Albany, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Abrahamson, Chariton, Iowa; Mr. James Hubbard, Spencer, Indiana; Mr. John Rees, Bear Grove, Iowa; and Miss Cora B. Dye, Des Moines.

Mr. and Mrs. Beavers will go at once to house-keeping in their new house at Woodland, Iowa, where they will be at home to receive their many friends who may call to see them.
