Private Thomas Duplex of Company C, United States engineers, at Willet's Point, who had gained considerable notoriety through his repeated desertions, has been finally dropped form the service by means of a dishonorable discharge. During the last five years he has deserted five times. Each time he has surrendered himself after an absence of about three months.
