New York, 1895
Silas A. Williams, a young farmer, whose place is near Old Westbury, is searching for a man whom he had in his employ for a year and a half. Tuesday Mr. Williams and his wife went out to spend the afternoon among relatives, leaving the house in charge of the hired man. When they returned the man was not to be found. Mr. Williams found that a pocketbook in his bureau drawer had been rifled and $87 taken.
