An Orang Outang's Nest

The nest of an orang outang taken from a tree at Borneo has lately been placed in the Natural History museum at Berlin. The nest measures 4½ feet long and 1 foot to 2½ feet wide by about 7 inches high. It is made of 20 to 25 branches locked and twined together. — Berlin Correspondent.


Liberty

"The Feast of Liberty" was a grand festival held by the Athenians once in every five years to commemorate the victory at Salamis. It was always celebrated on the battlefield of Plataea.


Pompeii Shears

A pair of shears with blades 10 inches long is among the spoils of Pompeii. The instrument belonged to a tunic maker.
